HealthSource RI Releases Enrollment, Demographic and Volume Data Through Feb. 8
PROVIDENCE – HealthSource RI has released enrollment data, certain demographic data and certain volume metrics through Feb. 8, 2014.
Enrollment data (Oct. 1, 2013 through Feb. 8, 2014):
Total HealthSource RI enrollments (including those who have not yet paid): 16,512
Paid enrollments: 14,086
Medicaid enrollments (per EOHHS): 35,821
Small employer applications initiated: 1,081
Small employer enrollment: 107 (based on their submitted census, these 107 employers represent 420 covered employees and 658 covered lives)
Small employers who enrolled in Full Employee Choice: 61
In addition, HealthSource RI has released the following demographic data regarding enrollees:

55 and older: 4,994
Plan metal level selected
Bronze-level plan: 3,712
Silver-level plan: 9,734
Gold-level plan: 2,928
Blue Cross & Blue Shield of RI: 15,967
Neighborhood Health Plan of RI: 545
No financial assistance: 1,999
Advanced premium tax credits (APTC): 6,414
APTC and cost-sharing reductions (CSR): 8,099
Note about data reconciliation: It is important to know that queries of the system run at different times and on different days may produce different sets of data as people move through various stages of the application and enrollment process. Data in this release reflects reconciled numbers through Feb. 8, 2014; therefore, these numbers may differ slightly from numbers reported in prior releases.
Volume metrics (Oct. 1, 2013 through Feb. 8, 2014):
In addition, HealthSource RI has released certain volume metrics to demonstrate the level of interest Rhode Islanders have shown in accessing affordable health insurance coverage through HealthSource RI. Since October 1, HealthSource RI has reported:
Contact Center calls received: 179,002
Contact Center walk-in visits: 16,005
Total website visits: 481,503
Total unique website visits: 403,652
The open enrollment period for individuals ends on March 31, 2014. Small employers may enroll at their renewal date, regardless of where that date falls in the calendar year.
Coverage began on Jan. 1, 2014. Individuals must enroll and pay by Feb. 23, 2014 for coverage that begins on March 1. Medicaid-eligible individuals may enroll throughout the year.
